• Medication & Schedule Data: When you input medication names, dosage amounts, scheduled times, intervals (e.g., 6, 8, 12 hours), and monitoring modes (Strict/Light Mode), this information is stored strictly locally on your device (using secure local storage).

• Family Profiles: Information entered for multi-profile tracking (e.g., family members' names or labels) remains stored entirely on your local device.

• Camera & Text Recognition (OCR): When using the camera to scan medication packaging for text recognition, image processing is executed entirely on-device using local machine learning libraries. Images are never transmitted, uploaded, or stored on external servers.

3. Permissions Requested and Justifications

To deliver reliable medication reminders, Med Assistant requests the following system permissions:

• Camera Permission (CAMERA): Used solely to capture physical text from medication labels locally via on-device OCR.

• Foreground Service & Alarms (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE / Exact Alarms): Required to ensure time-critical dosage alerts and reminders trigger accurately to the minute without being delayed or suppressed by system battery management (Doze mode).

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used strictly to deliver medication alert notifications, snooze reminders, and schedule updates to your screen.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

• No Data Selling or Renting: We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal or health habits data to advertisers, data brokers, or any third-party entities under any circumstances.

• No Third-Party Tracking: The Application does not integrate third-party ad networks or behavioral analytics trackers that profile user health activity.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all your medication logs and profile records reside exclusively on your physical device, you maintain full control over your data at all times:

• You can modify or delete individual medications, dosage histories, or user profiles directly within the Application interface at any time.

• Clearing the Application data via Android Settings or uninstalling the Application permanently removes all stored data from your device immediately.

Med Assistant is an organizational and personal medication reminder tool only.

The Application does not provide medical diagnoses, clinical advice, treatment plans, or emergency health services. It is not a substitute for professional healthcare guidance.
